Competition Rules

Last updated: 1 July 2026

Legal Status

BHP Giveaways competitions are prize competitions as defined under Section 14 of the Gambling Act 2005. They are not lotteries and do not require a Gambling Commission licence. The skill element (answering a question correctly) is a genuine requirement for entry, not a token condition.

Entry Rules

  • 1.Open to UK residents aged 18 and over only.
  • 2.Maximum of 10 ticket entries per person per competition.
  • 3.One free postal entry per household per competition.
  • 4.Employees and directors of Savannah Software LTD and their immediate families are excluded.
  • 5.The skill question must be answered correctly for the entry to be valid.
  • 6.Entries with incorrect skill answers are void and will not receive a refund.
  • 7.Entries are non-transferable.
  • 8.All entries must be received before the competition closes.

The Draw

  • 1.The draw takes place when all available tickets for a competition are sold.
  • 2.Each valid entry is assigned one unique ticket number per ticket purchased.
  • 3.The winning ticket is selected by a random number generator verified by an independent witness.
  • 4.The draw is filmed live and published publicly within 24 hours.
  • 5.The result is final and binding.
  • 6.Savannah Software LTD reserves the right to extend the closing date with notice to entrants.

Winners

The winner will be contacted by email within 48 hours of the draw and announced publicly (with consent) on our website and social media. The winner must claim their prize within 14 days of notification. If unclaimed, a re-draw will take place.

The winner may be required to participate in publicity as a condition of receiving the prize. This can be declined at the winner's discretion, in which case the prize is still awarded.

Governing Law

These rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. Savannah Software LTD's decision on all competition matters is final.
